The magnificent Quirimbas Archipelago in Cabo Delgado Province, Northern Mozambique, consisting of 32 islands,stretches from the city of Pemba in the south to the town of Palma in the north. The Quirimbas National Park includes a vast expanse of forest and some of the unspoilt southern islands of the Archipelago. The Quirimbas have enormous cultural and historical value, with a combination of Arabian, Portuguese and African influences.

The 1 500 square km marine area of Quirimbas National Park includes 11 coral islands stretching for 100km. The tiny island of Medjumbe is teeming with fascinating bird life, including the Black Heron. Game fish including Marlin, Sailfish, Dogtooth Tuna, Mackerel, various species of Kingfish and the infamous Bonefish can be found here.

Medjumbe Island Resort recently re-opened after a stunning revamp which included the addition of a private plunge Inside and Outside Deckpool at each of the 13 luxury chalets. The chalets offer luxury facilities, with private sundecks just a few steps away from the beach. All chalets have air-conditioning and the convenience of mini-bars and tea-coffee making facilities, as well as en-suite bathroom with bath & shower, plus an outdoor shower.
